Invest in Intervale Community Farm – Help Us Raise the Barn!

2018 Intervale Community Farm Co-op Member Loan Program

A new 40’ x 80’ building jointly-owned with the Intervale Center will allow ICF to wash vegetables throughout the winter months, provide for with much more efficient processes and equipment, and increase our crop storage capacity while improving crop storage conditions.   Located near our Winter Share parking area, the new pack house will also provide us with more space for our Winter Share distribution. We are breaking ground in mid-April, with completion in time for fall harvest.

ICF Co-op Members have the opportunity to invest in ICF through our 2018 member loan program.  ICF co-op member loans of $160,000 were a critical part of our 2012 greenhouse and infrastructure expansion, allowing ICF to supply you with fresh produce for 12 months of the year.  ICF now seeks to raise $120,000 in member loans of $2,000-$25,000, for terms of 5, 7, or 10 years, at rates of 2.5-4.5% interest. Any member of Intervale Community Farm Cooperative who is a Vermont resident may participate in the loan program, which runs from April 15, 2018 - June 15, 2018. Current ICF members have already pledged $25,000 in loans prior to kicking off our campaign, and one 2012 member lender has pledged to forgive his $15,000 member loan in support of the project and the work of Intervale Community Farm.   Full details of rates and terms are enumerated in our detailed loan offering here.  Not an ICF Co-op member? Intervale Community Farm Cooperative membership info is available here.

ICF 2018 Co-op Member loans are unsecured and subordinate to loans from ICF’s current and future secured lenders, such as credit unions, banks, or loan funds. Other risks involved in this loan program are detailed in the full program description here.  Please contact Farm Manager Andy Jones, andy@intervalecommunityfarm.com, 802 658 2919x4 if you have any questions or would like to discuss a member loan.
